We’re all in it

Rosh Hashanah and the Jewish New Year holidays are a time of reflection for us all.

It is a time for us to reflect back on our accomplishments, the growth we’ve achieved, and the potential we still offer. We can actually take the time to enjoy and savour the moment, but not for too long…

By Evan Feldman, 2012 Combined Jewish Appeal Campaign Chair

Rosh Hashanah is also a time to look forward and to challenge ourselves with our goals and vision for the future.

  • What do we hope for?
  • What do we want our home and community to look like?
  • Is this the best place to be for our children and grandchildren?
  • Have we done all we can to nurture and reinforce our foundation?
  • Have I done all I can do?
  • What am I in it for?

Rosh Hashanah is a powerful and meaningful time for all of us.  It is an opportunity for us to reflect on our core Jewish values.  Tzedakah and tikun olam are two values that are particularly important to me. Through Combined Jewish Appeal, each of us has the opportunity to provide dignity and be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of those less fortunate, all while continuing to strengthen and reinforce our Jewish identity and connection to Israel. What an incredible opportunity!

We can all partner in making our community everything we want it to be – the opportunities are endless.  I look forward to working with you all and continuing to build upon the foundation laid forth by previous generations.

I’m in it for all of us. What are you in it for?

I wish all of you and yours a Gemar Chatimah Tovah.
