“You and your team at Ometz have a special gift. We came to you truly in crisis. Although we are far from having solved all our problems, you not only managed to create a CV for me (after 10 years away from business), but encouraged my boss to pay me enough that we can begin to breathe. My husband is taking classes at Ometz and beginning to see the possibility of finding a new direction. You talked me off an emotional ledge and helped to explore all our financial options. You empowered us and we now feel like we have a future.” – Family

Agence Ometz delivers services to low-income families, those individuals seeking employment, families in need, as well as assisting new immigrants to establish themselves in Montreal.
Federation CJA allocated $4,412,000 (includes poverty relief fund)

“I’m very happy that I discovered the Cummings Centre. I found a second home and the people are wonderful. When I started volunteering, I walked to the Centre every single day. I used to bring two friends from my building so they could volunteer at the Centre as well. After a surgery and short absence, I wanted to return to my second home, the Cummings Centre, but could no longer walk the distance. I needed help to get to the Centre. The Cummings bus was a great help to me. My first volunteer position was in the ‘Second Reading’ and then four years in the Boutique and now two years at the Volunteer Check-In. I love hearing the volunteer stories. I also use the exercise facilities.” – Senior

It is a great pleasure to work with the wonderful staff of Project Genesis and to help users of the service. It’s wonderful to work for a place where people’s needs come first!” – Intern

JEM Workshop

“This is my tenth year working at the Workshop, and I really enjoy it! I work on different things all the time including packing and counting jobs, as well as using equipment like weigh scales. Without the Workshop, I would feel lost. It helps me earn a living and live independently in my own apartment with my husband. I am proud of what I do at work and so is my family. I have made some very close friends at work and we see each other on the weekends and on holidays. Without help from the Workshop, I would not be able to be the best I can be.”- Employee

The JEM Workshop provides a safe, adapted, and sheltering work environment for adults with intellectual, physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
